home > who I am Who I am Emily Forrieter, Certified Dog Groomer. Animals have always been a part of my life – I’ve cared for rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, cats, dogs and even horses. I live with a 3-year old golden retriever named Molson, who I spend time training in different modalities. I work regularly with the SPCA (dogs and cats). Many of these animals have been abused and are fearful. Some have aggressive or anti-social behaviours. I am experienced at keeping them calm and helping them through the difficult process of being cleaned and groomed. Why did I take up grooming? I was horrified by all the bad haircuts my mother’s dog came home with and felt it my duty to save her. Also, I happen to LOVE working one-on-one with dogs, ALL dogs! I am a Certified Groomer, DogSafe Certified and have recently been to a Karen Pryor Clicker Training seminar, which is helping to enhance my positive grooming strategies.
